چکیده
Abstract Tomato mottle mosaic virus (ToMMV) is a tobamovirus found in Solanum lycopersicum sample collected Mexico 2009. To assess the possible presence of ToMMV Europe, accessions from historic seed collection were tested by real-time RT-PCR and Illumina sequencing. was identified historical produced France, Netherlands Spain. Three different near complete genome sequences obtained, each corresponding to country which seeds had been produced. Positive samples France Spain could be related same production location year, respectively, while identical obtained locations years between 1981 2007. The latter due fact that Dutch repacked past at time as with relatively high load This indicates possibly only 2007 originated ToMMV-infected plants, detection older resulted cross contamination. data shows has around Europe before its first description more widespread than currently known.

The complete genome sequence of an isolate of tomato mottle mosaic virus (ToMMV) infecting tomatoes in New York was obtained using small RNA (sRNA) deep sequencing. ToMMV_NY-13 shared 99% sequence identity with isolates from Mexico and Florida. Broader distribution of this emerging virus is a cause for concern to the tomato industry.
